2022 David T. Terrill Environmental Stewardship Scholarship Fund NTSWA
Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority (NTSWA) has strived to meet the solid waste disposal needs of Bradford,Sullivan and Tioga Counties, Pennsylvania, since 1973. This has been accomplished by operating an integrated solid waste management system. This system is accompanied with an educational program geared to encourage residents, of our service area, to manage refuse wisely and to participate in local recycling, composting, and\or household hazardous waste programs. As part of this educational program, NTSWA would like to encourage and support individuals furthering their education in an environmental field. Scholarships are due April 5, 2022. Students must apply.

Peter C. Van Vlack Scholarship - due to guidance by April 1, 2022
Scholarship awarded to a student or students who express an interest in pursing a career in the field of medicine, education, public service, or trades. Scholarship agreement stipulates consideration be given to "average" students who have ambitions and will "contribute positively to society." Financial need will also be considered as part of the selection criteria. This award is intended to be distributed for the first year of college for tuition, room and board, and book expenses.

Congratulations to Kaden Netherton (7th out of 22 kid ) and Asher Kolesar(4th out of 22 kids) who placed at the Keystone State Youth Championships in Erie Pa this weekend. Shout out to Will Chappell (4th), Hunter Comstock (2nd), Kale Howland(2nd) and Tucker Harvey (1st) who all placed and advanced in the Mawa District Wrestling Tournament and qualified for their respective regional tournament.

While Wilkes University is our host school, our detachment has students enrolled at many partner schools including Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, King's College, Marywood University, Misericordia University, University of Scranton, Penn State (Hazleton, Scranton, Schuylkill, Wilkes-Barre), and Luzerne County Community College.
