Good Afternoon Panther Nation,

If you have been following recent events and news from across the nation you already know that there have been many rumors of school safety threats across the country.  These include threats of various nature and have been circulating across social media platforms.  These social media posts, and subsequent rumors, have caused concern and discussion amongst many of our students in the District. We wanted to take this opportunity to provide the following information:

  • The Northeast Bradford School District has not been provided any information from any social media outlet that names the district as a target

  • The District has not received any threats to the District in any other form

Safety and security is the highest priority in the Northeast Bradford School District.  When we are notified of rumors, threats, social media concerns, and any other information that may jeopardize the safety of our students, staff, or community, we act immediately.  The rumors that have been circulating today have been investigated by both the District and law enforcement and are not credible.  We will continue to work with students and parents to ensure everyone feels safe and secure while in the District.

We also ask that parents talk with their children about school safety and remind them that if they hear anything they should report it to a school employee or utilize the Safe2Say platform immediately.  With this correspondence we have also included some tips parents can use to discuss school safety with their family: Parent Guide: School Safety

Again, I want to reiterate that school safety is a top priority and that there are no current threats against the District.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at 570-744-2521 ext 2214.

Thank you,

Matthew Holmes

Superintendent
